Technical notes
The volute wear ring controls the running clearance between the impeller skirt and the pump casing. As the ring wears, that clearance opens, internal recirculation rises, and the pump loses discharge head and stripping capability during the critical final phase of cargo discharge. Specify the casing revision when ordering, because Framo issued more than one drawing revision across the SD125 and SD150 production life and the ring diameter differs between them. Fitting an incorrectly sized ring will not restore rated clearance and can accelerate impeller and casing wear. Material traceability to EN 10204 3.1 should accompany the part for class records.
